The mission of Mesabi Range Community & Technical College is to "provide high quality education resulting in rewarding employment, lifelong learning, and the enriched lives of our students and community." Our assessment program, at every level - from the individual course, to the general education curriculum, to technical programs, to college services - is focused on helping the institution to fulfill its promise to the community it serves.
The College's comprehensive and systematic approach to assessing student learning and student services determines the extent to which we are achieving this mission. The College's methods of assessment tell us where we are succeeding, and where we are not, so we can effectively maintain success and remedy failure.
Mesabi Range College's systematic, on-going process of realistic and manageable assessment leading to continuous, incremental change will - over time - make a significant difference in increasing student success. The College's assessment program is the built-in mechanism for institutionalizing the task of improvement.
