Federal Direct Parent Loans

Applying for Direct Parent PLUS Loan is an online process!           

1.  Get a Pin if you do not already have one!
      Go to: www.pin.ed.gov 

2.  Go to www.studentloans.gov and SIGN IN 

3.  Under “PLUS Loan Process” in column on left hand side of the page, Click “Request PLUS Loan”  

Things you should know

• The student award letter will advise you of your eligibility. You may always decline all or part of your loan.
  Contact the financial aid office if you have questions.
• The student must be enrolled in 6 or more credits to receive a Parent loan.  Your loan eligibility may be adjusted, down or up, if other sources of financial aid are awarded or reduced.
• All loans are divided into two payments.  (Full year enrollment ½ Fall & ½ Spring Semester) or (One semester enrollment ½ beginning of one term and½ mid-term)
• The credit balance will be paid to the student unless you request otherwise.
• If you are interested in borrowing additional funds, you should contact the financial aid office to discuss your options.
