Email Spam Filtering Information
SPAM: We are using a new spam filtering state system and you should see less spam!
If you receive an email message with “Quarantine Notification” in the
subject line, please open the email and click on the link that has been
provided in the email. Please note that this link will open in a new
browser window (you may need to allow access to view this page). Once
you open this link, you will be able to view information about the email
that is being quarantined.
NOTE: If this is the first time you
have logged onto your Quarantine mailbox you should choose "Need your
password?" and a message will be e-mailed to you which contains a URL
for you to follow. Once you have that URL you will be taken to a page
where you can specify your password for logging into the Quarantine web
site. You can choose to save your password in your browser. This
allows for easier and quicker access to the quarantine site.
* To view the email messages, click on the subject, and the email message will be displayed.
* Email messages can be deleted or sent to your inbox if you would like
to view the message. These actions can be performed by marking the
email messages with a check mark, and choosing the corresponding button
listed above the email messages.
* If you choose for the message to be sent to your inbox, the message will arrive in your email within a few minutes.
You can also do the following with email that has not been blocked by the spam system:
GroupWise also allows you to take control of spam. To use the GroupWise spam filtering feature, please open GroupWise, right click on an email and click “Junk Mail” and select one of the following choices:
•Trust sender (put them on your trust list)
•Junk sender (put your junk email in a junk email folder - you can decide later what you want to delete)
•Blocked sender (this will block the email and not deliver it to your email account)
You can also select “Actions” on the GroupWise toolbar - select “Junk Mail” - select “Junk Email Handling” and see what you have blocked or to make changes to what you may have placed on your junk email list.
