CARPENTER APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM INFORMATION

The Carpenters and Joiners Apprenticeship Training Center is currently accepting applications for the Carpenter Apprenticeship program on a year-round basis. Applications are made in person at 740 Olive St, St. Paul, MN 55130.
Applications are accepted Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-11:30 AM and 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.

The following requirements must be met before someone can apply:
1.  Be not less than 17 years of age.
2.  Be an American citizen, or in the process of receiving naturalization.
3.  Have either a HS diploma or a GED.
4.  Be able to provide documents verifying requirements 1 & 3 above.
5.  Be physically able to perform the duties of the craft.
6.  Each applicant needs to have the Supervisor of Apprentices for a Union employer call this office and indicate that they intend to hire the applicant as a carpenter apprentice.
7.  Apply for membership to a Carpenter Local Union and produce a money order for $126.00 to cover union membership costs.

Special Note: All applicants will serve 60-90 day trial period. During this trial period, all applicants need to remain employed and current with their related training requirements.

Selection of apprentices is made without regard to race, color, creed, sec or national origin.  The number of persons who will be indentured will depend entirely on the level of activity within the industry.

The Millwrights and Machinery Erectors(Local # 548) Joint Apprenticeship Committee accepts applications for this on a year-round basis. Applications are made in person at 740 Olive St, St. Paul, MN 55130. Applications are accepted Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-11:30 AM and 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.

The following requirements must be met before someone can apply:
1.  Be not less than 17 years of age.
2.  Be an American citizen, or in the process of receiving naturalization.
3.  Have either a HS diploma or a GED.
4.  Be able to provide documents verifying requirements 1 & 3 above.
5.  Be physically able to perform the duties of the craft.
6.  Each applicant must take and score not less than 70% on the Millwright qualifying test in order to remain eligible.

Special Note: The Millwrights qualifying test will be given only on the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October of each year.  The roster of potential applicants is adjusted after potential candidates are tested and interviewed.  All applicants who have completed the test and interview process will be ranked in a descending order based on criteria established by the Millwright JATC

Selection of apprentices is made without regard to race, color, creed, sec or national origin.  The number of persons who will be indentured will depend entirely on the level of activity within the industry.

The following requirements must be met: Be not less than 17 years of age; American citizen or in the process of receiving naturalization; high school diploma or a GED certificate of equivalency; able to provide documents verifying age and high school equivalency; physically able to perform duties. Each applicant MUST have the Supervisor of Apprentices for a union employer call and indicate intention to hire applicant. Applicant MUST apply for membership to a Carpenter Local union and produce $100.00 money order to be applied towards dues and other union fees. Applicant will serve 60-90 day trial period.
