HEAD COACH: Jo Hejny is a graduate of Virginia, H.S. and an alumni of our own Mesabi Range Community College.  During her tenure as a Lady Norse she was named The Locker Talk Mesabi Range Athlete of the Year in 2002 and was named 1st team All-American in 2003 for volleyball.  Hejny competed in volleyball, basketball, and softball while attending Mesabi Range. 

After Mesabi she accepted a scholarship and went on to play volleyball for 2 more years for the University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagles.  She graduated from UMC in 2006 with a B.S. in Business Management.  She now works as an Associate  Financial Advisor, with the practice of Mark S. DeMillo, for Ameriprise Financial® in Hibbing, MN.

Jo previously coached  two years for the North Country Region Junior Olympic volleyball program in Crookston, MN and  returned to MCC to assist her former head basketball coach Dan Zbosnik in 2007.

ASSISTANT COACH: Toni Kuschel is a graduate of Pine River-Backus H. S.  and an alumni of Central Lakes Community College.  During her tenure at CLC she was a part of one National Tournament volleyball team and was a part of one National Championship team.  Kuschel  competed in volleyball and softball for the Raiders.

After CLC Kuschel  went on to get her B.S. in Sports Science and Recreation Management from  St. Cloud State University.  She now works as a Sports Director for the YMCA in Virginia, MN.

Toni previously coached  7 years for the North Country Region Junior Olympic Volleyball program.
